If this bio could start off with a song, it would be "Don't Stop Believin' " by Journey, starting with the lyric "Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit..."
Jeremy was born and raised in the city of Motown, Rock, and automobiles. Yes, that's right folks, Dee-Troit, Michigan. Jeremy was surrounded by music his whole childhood, so it wasn't a surprise when he picked up the microphone and started singing himself! Picture this...
Siersma Elementary- Warren, Michigan. Kindergarden, 1988. Jeremy steps off of the bus with his USED tight-rolled jeans, Pumps, SKIDZ sweatshirt, and side-spiked hair-do. His Fisher-Price speaker and microphone set in hand fully loaded with a cued up tape of "The Right Combination" by Donnie Wahlberg and Seiko taped from the radio. Show and Tell starts. Jeremy's hand shoots up in the air as fast as Milli Vanilli bolted from the stage after they were caught lip-synching. Mrs. Kraft points to him. He rises and fatefully takes his place in the middle of the Show and Tell circle. The play button was pressed and let me tell you folks, that 'Combination' was oh so 'Right'...
A Star was born...
In sixth grade, he was bit hard by the acting bug in a country-western musical version of Sleeping Beauty where he played the Sheriff/Father of Sleeping Beauty. Oh what a beautiful tale that was...
From then on, Jeremy sang in every program his school, city and state had to offer (and yes, that did include 8 years of shiny happy Show Choir).
He continued to sing and act throughout Junior High and High School winning numerous awards and praise for his work including winner of the 1999 Showchoir Camps of America Talent Show receiving a college scholarship award and also state and national finalist in forensics (not CSI forensics! Competitive acting...) 3 years in a row.
After very shortly going down the path of vocal jazz after high school graduation, Jeremy made the decision to move to NYC and attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Starting the week after graduation he was working as a professional actor and he is thankful till this day to be a working actor.
